At the end of the 2009-2010 school year, Cassidy was awarded her varsity letter and received a plague for her performance in track & field as most improved during her Freshman year.
She spent the year learning how to do the "four step" in the 100 meter hurtles and learning how to make it over hurtles that were 3 inches taller than in Junior High.
She also participated in the 300 meter hurtles. This was her first year doing it and is a killer race. By the end of the year she was running in the 51.3 second range. At the first of the year she was running 55-56 seconds. She also became the top 300 meter hurtle runner at the high school beating out the others one of which was a junior.
Rebecca's soccer team 2010. We are the Champions of the girls 5th-6th grade. I was able to coach her team. It was an exciting championship game. We were down 2-0 and fought back with 2 goals to tie and then kicked a penalty kick after the opposing team was caught tripping in the goalie box. The penalty kick put us up 3-2 and we held on for the win. Rebecca became a huge asset in the defensive field pretty much playing as our safety in front of the goalie for the season. She instilled a lot of confidence in others with her performance.

Cassidy is a member of her high school track team mainly running in the 100m hurdles and the 300m hurdles. This is a video of her 2nd meet running the 300m Hurdles. She is in the green and captured 3rd place. This is a new race for her as it wasn't a race they ran in Junior High. Yep, she is winded by the end. However, this is a race that she is getting control of. This past Wednesday in a tri-meet event she scored 1st place. This coming week she will participate in the NLC Conference meet and then it is on to Sectionals. The top four qualifyers from Sectionals will advance to Regionals. Those who qualify at Regionals will advance to the state finals.

Here is a poem that Rebecca created (with a little help) which she recited at The Young Author's Conference on Saturday:
Indianapolis Zoo
Indianapolis Zoo is a fun place to be,
And over spring break I got to see,
A dolphin show where they did cool tricks.
They jumped through hoops like they were sticks,
They jumped in the air and did some flips,
And on top of the water they did lots of skips.
When we got to the seals they waved at us,
And we got to play Simon says with them which was an awesome plus!
We went to the dog sharks, and I got to touch one.
It was wet and scary, but it was still a lot of fun!
We went on a train ride around the zoo,
And saw giraffes, elephants, and an animal hospital too.
As we walked around getting tired and sore,
We saw monkeys, lions, tigers, rhinos, and so much more!
But I'm still curious about those dog sharks,
Because I never heard them bark!

Seth: 2010 ISSMA State Performance video clips
Seth participated in a Sax ensemble on Saturday. This was a state event and to qualify they needed to do a certain level of song and acheive a Gold rating at the district event. They accomplished this and went to State securing a Gold rating as well. The event was held in Indianapolis. These are a few video clips of a performance that lasted around 7 minutes. This is an ISSMA event (Indiana State School Music Association)

A few more pictures to add to the collective. Three of these (I'll let you guess which ones) are of Cassidy's birthday. Yes, she is 15, only a few mores years of "teenagerdom" and she will be someone we can live with. The other picture is of a windmill farm that we saw on our trip home from taking Ashee to Rexburg. We saw a couple of these during our trip.
